| | OWASP is known for staying up to date with new techniques, and many of their members are CISSP certified or CEH (certified ethical hacker). They have a vast bounty of free (open-source) tools as well as tutorials on subjects ranging from SQL injection, to things you have probably never heard of. My favorite tool is DIR Buster, which brute forces a website to find hidden files, folders, and paths. This is similar to crawling, but often will reveal even hidden locations such as admin login portals, images, cgi-bin, etc. VERY VERY useful when surveying a website for all possible folders. It can be used with a proxy, and has several dictionaries included with it. ENJOY OWASP.org |
